I sometimes get an irregular heart beat if I vomit, it s not fast or slow it kinda seems to be all over the place, whether if it s from over indulgence in drinking or if I experienced the stomach flu, I ve spent 23 years in Law enforcement and the Military and during my physicals nothing has been noted. Hi welcome to HCM.
Vomiting is associated with increased intrabdominal pressure which can impair blood flow to heart. This is associated with gross disturbances of heart rhythm. This is called sinus arrythmia. These variations need not be treated as they resolve spontaneously when vomiting subsides.Refractory cases can be managed with drugs like lorazepam and beta blockers.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
Thank you
