I am 44 female, 5'9" 139 lbs I have irregular heart beats, sometimes to the point of making me cough and see spots. When I eat my heart really goes nuts...seems like all my life my heart has beat irregular however at this age should I worry about it???
You need to perform a medical check up. A careful physical exam, a resting ECG, and some blood tests (including complete blood count, thyroid hormone blood levels, electrolytes, etc), are necessary for an initial diagnostic work up. If suspicions for any possible arrhythmia are raised, them an ambulatory 24 to 48 hours ECG monitoring is needed to clarify definitely this issue. Probably cardiac rhythm disturbances are excluded at the end, and some further diagnostic work up, should be done regarding digestive system.
Hope to have been helpful to you. Greetings! Dr. Iliri
