What Causes Irregular Menstruation And Cramps Despite Completion Of Menstruation?
I am 52.of late i notice that my menses are becoming abit irregular. This month my menses came on 5th and was not as heavy as normal and lasted for almost 6 days instead of the normal 3 days. Even though it stopped flowing, i cd still feel light cramps esp on my right side. Then on Fri last week the cramps became more intense then in the evening i started menstruating again and this time much heavier. Today ( Monday), the flow is lighter but i still feel light cramps. Shd i feel concerned about this?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Irregularities in the menstrual cycle is common in perimenopausal women because of the hormonal changes in this phase. However, other causes of irregular spottingand bleeding like cancer cervix and endometrium should be ruled out. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
