What Causes Irregular Menstruation When On Depo Shots?
Hi...I was on depo injection for a while...stoppedusing it almost 2 yrs now...I see ma periods but they are irregular...trying for a baby but nothing is happening...was told to buy folic acid...I bought one with 5mg...is dis suitable for me or its too much of a dose..or u can recommend something for me..
One very common complaint of women who have used depo shot is menstrual irregularities after getting off the shot.Folic acid needs to be taken prior to and a while after conception to prevent neural tube defects.
5 mg is a little too much and you need 400 mcg per day, and nothing more than that. As for conception, the first thing is to regularise your menstrual cycle and then initiate treatment to improve chances for conception with medications like clomiphene citrate. Please do schedule and appointment with your doctor at the earliest.
Best wishes.
