What Causes Irregular Menstruation When Uterus Lining Is 13 Mm Thick?

I thought that I was in menapuse as I did not have periods for nearly for one year or so, but four weeks ago I had bleeding and after an ultrasonography my doctor said there was an egg and at the same time my uterus lining was 13mm thick. Today I went through another ultrasonographi he said the egg has gone, and it is still thick about 13mm. I am 55

Menopause is considered to have been established when there is no natural period for a year. Occasional ovulation can still happen during this stage and lead to a menstrual cycle.
