What Causes Irregular Menstruation While On Minastrin 24 Fe?

I have been on birth control pills Minastrin 24 Fe for about two years now. My period got lighter and lighter and eventually went away. I have not had my period for a year now and my doctor said that is normal. However, about a week ago I got my period and it was moderately heavy and lasted a full week, if not longer. What could be the reason I have suddenly gotten a period?

Hello,

Following are the cause of irregular period:
Hormonal imbalance, emotional problem like stress, ovarian cyst/PCOS, change in lifestyle and dietary habit, thyroid disorder etc.
I advice you to consult the gynecologist and get the done following investigations: reproductive hormone analysis, thyroid hormone, ovarian follicle study, USG scan etc.
Management depends on cause. The period can be induced by medroxyprogesterone after proper evaluation.
Do regular exercise like walking and medication early in the morning for 45-60 minutes, healthy diet and fresh fruits.
