What Causes Irregular Periods Post Progyluton Withdrawal?
Hi doctor. I have a question. I had used progyluton for regulate my period 1 year and I have stopped using it for one month now. when I taked the pill, I had five day regular period every month and had heavy flow but at the same time I also experienced period cramp. And now that I stopped taking the pill, my period is last more than five days. It began with light bleeding to little heavy and light again and it still continues with brown discharge but I don’t experience period cramp. Could it be a serious problem or something else? Thanks you beforehand.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
In the current scenario, the most likely cause of the abnormal bleeding pattern is the hormone imbalance created by stopping the pill. I would ask you to get this spotting controlled by the help of styptics and if necessary, hormones under medical surveillance. Later on, go for a complete evaluation to tackle the root cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
