Hello my name is Samantha I m a little worried on what seems to be wrong with me. I had my period September 13th and it ended September 18th....It is now September 24th and my period has come back ..I was sexually active September 19th but due to condom failure I took contraceptive pill...should I be worried I don t know what is going on?
I can understand your concern. It would be easy to answer your question if you had mentioned which contraceptive pill you had taken as Regular contraceptive pills need a course of 21 to 28 days to give protection against pregnancy and one random pill may not work for that purpose. You should have taken Emergency contraceptive pill like i pill, Plan B etc.
You should first go for taking a home pregnancy test. Sometimes breakthrough bleeding is expected after you conceive. If you not pregnanct and periods are delayed for more than 10 days of your expected date, you should visit a gynecologist for physical examination and further investigations like blood tests, ultrasonography etc to rule out other possible causes like polycystic ovaries, thyroid dysfunction, infection etc.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
