What Causes Irregular Periods ?

Please type your query here. hi this is snehal from india . last month i had my periods on the 15th , it came again after a week. now this month..two days back my nipples started paining and that day i had unprotected sex ... the next day...i bleeded like a drop o something... but the next day ... i did not bleed at all..... i want to know what i menstruating?

Dear Snehal,

Your confusion is but natural.

Your bleeding on 15th of last month was the menstruation. Bleeding a week after that was not the menstruation. If it was one week after stopping of the bleeding; i.e. on 14-15th days of the cycle it is most likely to be ovulation bleeding, also known as mittlesmersch. Very few women get it. It my not be a routine pattern also. Hence, you bled little for a day or two.

I feel you need not be bothered for this occasional bleeding this time. If the bleeding starts appearing irregularly, you may have to report to the Gynaecologist.
