Hi I was told in may that I was not pregnant and I m now taking birth control as of may 13 since I being on the birth control I would have irregular or no period for about one or two months it is now September and I am exprincing lower back pain. Is there a chance I could b pregnant and not know it
While being on birth control pills sometimes irregular menstrual cycles can be seen due to the fluctuation of reproductive hormone levels. And it may take a few months for regularization of the hormone levels and thereby menstrual cycles. If you have used the birth control pills as per the schedule the possibility of pregnancy is very less. If you have missed any pill or altered the time of intake of the pill there is a possibility of pregnancy. If you want to rule out, please go for a blood test for pregnancy or an ultrasound.
In blood test for pregnancy, if the serum beta HCG levels are less than 5 mIU/mL that rules out the possibility of pregnancy and you can continue with your birth control pills as per the schedule irrespective of the menstrual bleeding. For backache you can take symptomatic treatment with analgesics with your doctor's advice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
