What Causes Irregular Vaginal Bleeding?

Hi I recently had a Pap test due to irregular bleeding and tummy pain and urination pain. Doc gave me antibiotics for urine infection and pap came back clear. I had my period which was longer than normal lasted 10 days and started bleeding 4 days later for a further 6 with first pink blood then dark brown but flow was light then a few days later i started bleeding again with very light brown blood and every now and again get Dark brown sticky clot. If a pap is clear what can be causing these irregularities. Have had sex once in all this time and use condoms as always.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,

Menstrual irregularities which you are facing may be due to hormonal imbalance. I would have advice following test:
1) Thyroid profile test.
2) Serum prolactin
3) Serum estrogen and progesterone level
4) Ultrasound pelvis.

Depending on test results treatment would have been done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Meena Jethani,
