What Causes Irritable Bowel Syndrome After A Stroke?

I am an 87year old man who had a stroke, and ever since I can not travel anywhere, not even to my daughters house which she lives only 40minutes away, my problem is, 10minutes sitting in the car while being driving somewhere I have to open bowels, and I can not control it ! is there something I can take before leaving the house!

Hello and thank you for your question.
I am sorry that you are having that problem. You could try taking Imodium which is an over the counter medication about one hour before you travel. If that does not work there are prescription medications that are used to treat diarrhea and you could ask your doctor to let you try one of those.
