What Causes Irritation And Dried Crust In Right Ear Of A Kid?

My 17 month old has been increasingly irritable, and this morning I noticed a thin layer of dried crust in his right ear. He hasn't been pulling on it, no fever, but a slightly decreased appetite. Of course, it's a holiday, and no one can see him today. I read that it could be a ruptured ear drum, but I didn't see any blood. Please advise.

Hello,
There could be wax and because of the wax he has the irritation.
Fluid collection behind the ears with ear crusting could be the next probability, then there could be ruptured drum.
If the ent consultation is not possible then you can use ear drops for wax and put 2 drops in the ear and leave it , in addition you can give him anti histaminic and decongestant syrups which could help him to get relief.
This treatment will not have any complication . and if he does not get relief then you can consult an ENT specialist and get him examined.
