What Causes Itching All Over Body After Taking Prozac?
Hello .I have been take the generic prosac for many years. I took myself off of it for a month, now I started back with a brand new bottle from pharmacy. I have brokeout in welts and itching . all over my body, heated areas,Im wondering if this could be from this medicine. I eat healthy and no changes in my daily soursesof food or laundry detergents.

Thank you very much for your question. Prozac or Fluoxetine is a drug belongs to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors group which is used to treat major depressive disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and panic disorder etc. However, when you are taking these drugs there are certain things that you have to remember.
1. Do not take Prozac if you have taken drug includes MAO inhibitor group for last two weeks.
2. Do not take Prozac if you are allergic to Fluoxetine.
3. Do not take any herbal medicine like St. John's wort while you are on Prozac.
4. Immediately contact your doctor if you notice any side effects.
In your case I strongly believe that you have to contact your physician immediately since you have developed an allergic reaction to Prozac. Severe skin reactions to Prozac can be dangerous. Therefore, Contact your physician immediately.
