What Causes Itching And Cuts In The Anus?

I saw my doctor a few months back for anal itching that wasn’t letting me sleep at night. I was given blamed cream and was told that it was just a condition called anal itching and was sent home. I’m a 26 yo female with no std’s or any serious illness. I am still having discomfort, itching stinging and have noticed small paper like cuts around my anus and perineum. I’ve done thorough google searches to try to find out what this could be but no answers.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It seems that probably you may be having pruritus ani or perianal dermatitis. There may be some cause. Stress, mental upsets or psychological disturbance might cause pruritus ani. Soap, fecal elements, worms, poor hygiene, etc. might cause dermatitic changes in perianal area. I would recommend you to take anxiolytic drug like tab. Fluoxetine, antihistaminics like Cetirizine. Apply mild steroid with antibiotic cream on the affected area. Take Sitz bath in Dettol mixed water in tub. Relax and be calm mentally.
