I have had red itchy eyelid for 8+ yrs. The intensity varies. It recently spread to other eyelid slightly. Was patch tested 3 yrs ago & came back as sensitivity to ppd hair dye, propolis sensitivity. I have stopped using ppd dye on hair for 5 months with no change? The eye lid was biopsied and it came back as dermititis?? I have seen numerous rhematologist & having another patch test next week. Do you have any suggestions??? I have hadextensive testing for autoimune, all was negative.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is blepharitis. it should be cleaned with sterile gauge and with neosporine ophthalmic ointment. Allergy test should be done and allergen be detected.
It can be in food and drink. If there is pet in house then keep distance from them.
It is not related to rheumatism and biopsy is not required. It is fine that autoimune disorder has been excluded. In that case, steroid is only treatment but you can take second opinion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

This sounds like allergy. Kindly avoid dust and dirt and wash your eyes with cold water. You can use Loteprednol eye drops three times for two weeks along with artificial preservative free eye drops. An antiallergic drug like Olopatadine can be put twice a day for two months.
