Hello, I have been having issues with extreme dermal cellulitis that my doctor refuses to diagnose as scabies despite the fact that I have had over the course of two years in shelters, a series of symptoms that began and point to this infection: trails of 3-4 white centered red dots in lines or curly cues. Distressed skin which is alternately oily and noduled between fingers and along index and thumb. I also suffer from running itch which makes it hard to sleep as I constantly feel like something is crawling on me. I work in front of a computer at night because I can t get much sleep and when I use a fan to keep it cool, and wrap up in a blanket to keep the fan from chilling me out, I get _instant itch_. Not so much the daytime. I have tried Kroeger and Neosporin antibiotic salves and have had both the upper surfaces of my feet turn from crinkly dried scales to a runny slush of tissue. The same only worse with a cortical steroid to the point where my feet ache to the bones. It was also the first time the infection went between my toes and started wrapping underneath. The last time this happened, less than a week ago, my right foot went from blood red with several layers of skin gone to scabbed back over with a density and hardness of whitish streaked brown scab that looked almost Norwegian. I have had two doses of Vancomycin with multiple day stays in hospital and each time the hard stuff clears my feet up temporarily (going back to puffy red surface skin) and the massive swelling, redness and heat in my lower right leg especially diminishes. The red dots then become migrative, striated and run up the leg, and I begin to suffer tenderness in my right lower abdomen and side. The dots do become less prominent and more scattered on my arms and the itch is not as bad, especially if I use Vaseline lotion. But they never go away completely and form little clusters of red all up and down my upper arms and sometimes wrapping over the wrists and elbows. My doctor says I have liver issues and she is unwilling to prescribe Stromectol but I am leery of Permethrin both because it is a pesticide base and because my skin is already very sensitive. As you can see, I ve been up and down with this issue looking for solutions (oil of cloves, neem oil etc.) and on my last trip to the hospital, I found myself becoming anxious and unable to continue the Vancomycin treatment. Which I don t think was psychosomatic affectant. Now my side really hurts and I have a doctor who will not even do the test with the hand microscope and ink dye to see if these are in fact mite wounds nor tell me about the specific risks of single dose Ivermectin to someone with my liver condition. My reading suggests Vancomycin is also hard on the liver, as is the Bactrim and Cephalexin I have been prescribed. I have called other hospitals and gotten no help from Nurse Lines. I could really use another opinion about where to go to verify my problem and what the various risks are to constantly dosing myself with prescription antibiotics and topical anti parasitics vs. ordering a bottle of Stromectol from Canada and waiting a week to let the other drugs clear my system before trying to get rid of this stuff. I am living with very limited means in a low income housing situation and so sixty dollars is not an inconsiderable investment for me but at the same time, it seems I am getting to the point where I am either hyper and unable to sit and concentrate or so dull with fatigue that I can hardly think. The itch is driving me nuts. Please, if you will, provide me some alternatives and particularly a testing source in Denver Colorado to verify whether indeed this is scabies or fungal as my doctor believes. Thank You and please keep this data confidential.
