What Causes Itching Around Groin Area?
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic Inflammed, dry scaly skin in the groin area, suggests to me that it could be due to fungal infection over there (Tinea cruris). I would ask you get a KOH wet mount from the scale, for a confirmatory diagnosis. If KOH wet mount shows fungal elements, then you could apply a topical OTC antifungal cream e.g clotrimazole cream, twice daily for 4-6 weeks. An oral antifungal e.g fluconazole 150mg once weekly for 4-6 weeks is also advisable for a confirmed fungal infection. An OTC antihistamine e,g cetrizine 10mg once daily would help you in providing symptomatic relief from itching. regards
