hi my name is Karrie and i am 41 yrs old. i for the last 5 days or so have had itching between the higher part of my buttocks on one side. also some between my buttocks . i have a hemmoroid and have for a long while. i am not sexually active and have not been since my boyfriend deployed last march. what may be the issue. area is pinkish red. advice help please
It seems that you may be having intergluteal intertrigo. There may be itchy erythematous erosive lesions in the fold between the butocks. There may be some cause. Irritant like soap,perspiration,dust,detergents..etc might be responsible. The fungus like candida albicans may be there. Even some bacterial infections may exacerbate the lesion. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis and treatment. I usually advise in my patients having such problem in following ways.. - to avoid soap during bath. - to take Sitz bath in dettol containing water. -to keep the area dry. -to avoid excessive bathing. -to apply combined cream of antibiotic,steroids and antifungal. - to take short course of antibiotics and antifungal like ketoconazole. - to take antihistaminics like levocetirizine till itch is relieved.
