What Causes Itching In The Chest?

I m female, 61 years old, no health problems. Normal weight, exercise about 6 times a week, combo of cardio and weight lifting. Recently have felt a slight itchiness, not really pain, in heart area. Not usually brought on by exertion, but once in a while while walking. Should I get checked out?

Hello,

Yes, you can consider getting it assessed. Heart-related pain normally worsens or occurs with activity and improves with rest, it is associated with shortness of breath, palpitations in many persons but this can vary.

It is not usually associated with an itchy sensation but because the pain can occur with walking, you should be assessed to rule out the more serious causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
