What Causes Itching In The Elbow Crook?
In the crook of both my arms (but moreso on the left arm)... near the elbow area, I have been itching badly. It isn t spreading and the horrible itching seems to come and go. At first, I thought maybe it was a sunrash as I am in the sun alot for tennis. Or perhaps a reaction to the sunblock I use. It keeps me up all night and is driving me crazy. In the affected area, the skin is raised, welted, and a little red. I itch and itch until I almost bleed. Could this be fungal, bacterial, rash? How do I know the difference? What are some treatments?

The possible diagnosis of the condition based on the description of the lesions is atopic dermatitis which produces a recurring rash generally on the flexural aspects of the body. The possible treatment option includes topical emolients containing liquid paraffin to be applied at least twice a day on the affected area and also on the surrounding areas. Topical mild steroid cream like mometasone can be applied over the affected area. Oral antihistamines like fexofenadine may also be used after consulting your dermatologist. Regards
