What Causes Itching On My Lower Calf?

Tuesday, July 29th, I went outside to watch my dogs do their thing, it was raining, I was under my umbrella and when I came in, on my lower left calf I was itching, I told my husband maybe I got bitten by a mosquito, but he said couldn t be as is was raining, the next day and until today my left lower calf has swelled and there is a red mark on the area I thought I was bitten, and when I walk my calf feels tight in the back of my calf, I m having cervical surgery this next friday, I put ice on it, what else could I do, is this a concern, I m not allowed to take ibroprophen because of my surgery coming up.

Hi thanks for using HCM,
No doubt it could be an insect bite.
Because of cervical surgery, you should treat this immediately by using mild antibiotics.
1) Tab Levocetrizine daily night time.
2) Cap Cephalexin 250 mg twice daily for 3 days.
3) Diclofenac potassium with paracetamol for 3 days.
4) Hot mopping on that area.
