What Causes Itching/prickly Sensation On Skin/face/eyes/ears/nose/mouth After Started Carvedilol?

Hi, I have been having itchie, prickly sensations on my skin like something is crawling on my face, around my eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, which is very annoying and I think that it may be due to a new medication for high blood pressure. The new med is Carvedilol, could this be the cause of these creepy feelings?

Hello,

It is typical of allergic reaction to carvedilol. You can take over the counter available antihistamines like cetrezine or levocetrizine for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persists it will be better to switch to alternatives instead of carvedilol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
