What Causes Itching Sensation In The Vagina Post Plan B Intake?

Hello I took plan B a week ago. This is my second time taking it. After a week the first time I took it, I experienced slight itching inside of my vagina and anus and then started bleeding brown blood. The itching went away after a couple days and the bleeding stopped after about 4 days. My real period came on time. This second time taking it I am experiencing the same things a week later, but the itching is more intense. And it s been going on for the past few days. Is this a side effect of the plan B?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. Itching of the vagina is not a side effect of the emergency contraceptive pill. If you find it persisting, please see a specialist for proper evaluation and plan further management. If you do not see your next natural period a week after it is due, please get further help. Take care.
