What Causes Itching/white Liquid From Ear When Having Tubes In Ear?
My daughter had tubes put in her ears at 5 years old. She is 8 now and they have not came out. She is complaining about her ear. She says it itches and she keeps messing with it. Now white liquid is coming out of it. Should we take her to the ER. Her eardrum has ruptured in the past.
Hi, thanks for your query. Your daughter, probably has middle ear effusion. Frequent cold and URTI can cause this. The serous fluid accumulated in middle ear keeps coming out through the tubes which causes irritation and itching. Its not a emergency conditions. Empirically you can treat her with antihistamines with decongestant for 5 days and see If symptoms does not reduce, then you can consult ENT specialist. . Hope my answer have helped you.
