What Causes Itchy Bumps On The Lips?

Hi, I don't know if you'll be able to help but I'm a bit worried as I have lots of little bumps on my lips at the moment. I just woke up and they were there. You can't really see them unless you look really closely but they feel like sandpaper and are really itchy... Do you know what they are?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that sudden appearrence of small bumps over the lips that are itchy can be due to allergic reaction to some unknown allergen and can be due to causes like any food or medication, bug/insect bite, lip cosmetics etc..
It can also be due to bacterial infection or can be an outbreak of cold sores caused by herpes simplex virus..
I would suggest you to take an anti allergic tablet like Levocetrizine or Allegra to reduce itching and do cool compresses over the lip
You will give you temporary relief..
You can then consult an Oral Physician or Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations as per suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case if there is bacterial infection antibacterial ointments can be advised..
In case of cold sores antiviral oral medication as well as topical ointments like Acyclovir, Valacyclovir etc can be advised..
Levocetrizine can however be taken to relieve itching..
