hi doctor So I sometimes (Almost everyday) get this feeling on my face of an intense itching sensation, and when I scratch it, a bump will appear. The bump it usually red around the area, and a flushed white in the center. I figured out that when I don t scratch it, the bumps sometimes won t appear, or at least won t be so obvious. But it s killing me, any way to make this stop? and what exactly is it?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history, you are suffering from the Polymorphic light eruption. My treatment advice is:
1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with SPF more than 30. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like Fusiderm-B cream on the affected skin. 3. Take an antihistamine medicine like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harshit Bhachech
