What Causes Itchy Feeling Under The Breast And Extending Towards The Chest?

Hi, I have an itchy feeling inside my rib cage. It is on the left hand side only and all I want to do is to scratch the inside of my rib cage. The sensation is under my left breast, going up the middle of the chest, sometimes I think I can also feel it towards my left lower back. I read a precious post below that s similar to my symptoms but I too am not in agreement with the Dr. s advice. Hope you can shed more wisdom on this. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Fungal infection underneath the breast fold is a common possibility.

Consult a dermatologist and get evaluated. Topical antifungals like clotrimazole can be applied.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
