What Causes Itchy Patches On The Skin While On Gabapentin?

I am taking gabanentin for several months. I get severe itching patches on my body. I have a cream to stop the itching. It stars suddenly. Is it possibly related? I haven t had a pill for a couple of weeks. I take it for pain in the sciatica.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having urticaria.
It is not related to gabapentin.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid fast food and food with artificial colors for 2 months.
2. Don't take any medication without consulting a doctor as it may worsen the condition.
3. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
4. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
5. Other treatment options are oral steroid, hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
