What Causes Itchy Rash On Chest Spreading Over To Back?
I have a light rash that itches quite a bit. it began on the top of my chrest then over it moved to my back then left the chest and back areas and is presently on my buttocks and the front of both thighs. My diet or medications have not changed. I have seen a doctor who diagnosed my condition as Hives. I have taken antihistamines and am using calamine lotion to get the incessant itching. As this moves about and leaves one area then appears elsewhere. I have not been exposed to different laundry soaps or products. I am a w f 58 years of age. This is becoming unbearable.
Hello, Thanks for the query, You might have developed acute urticaria. It is an allergic condition. Anything including food, cloth, change in climate, pollens etc can cause urticaria. You need to find out the cause. Treatment can be with oral anti histamines. Steroids like prednisolone are also helpful but cannot be used for long. Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis. Let me know if you have any other doubt. you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link. http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-rahul-kumar/64818 Wishing you a good health.
