What Causes Itchy Red Bump On Temple Region And Swollen Lymphnodes?
I woke up six days ago with a red welt-like bump about the size of a half dollar on my temple. It was numb but a little itchy. The itching continued 2 get worse throughout the days. On day two or 3 I noticed my lymphnode was very swollen on the same side. now its day six and it seems to b a little better maybe but the swelling has now spread to under my eye. I havent seen a bite mark there but I believe it may have been a spider bite. What could this be?
I can understand your concern for itchy red bump on temple region and swollen lymph nodes. It appears that you have got infection of the oil glands and hair roots at the temple region which has caused red bumps as well the swollen lymph nodes.
The lymphatics of any area drain all the content s of the area resulting in infection getting spread to various other sites. Lymph nodes act as barriers to the same and therefore get enlarged in the same process.
You just keep an observation of the area and if you feel that it is increasing in size then can meet your dermatologist. For the time being it is better to take an antibiotic course at the earliest. Still if you are worried then you can discuss further with a dermatologist. Take care.
