Hiya, so this morning I woke up with two large patches (about the size of my hand) of petechiae on my left thigh, and they seem to both be pretty localized. I m wondering whether this could be the result of scratching an itch (they do seem to follow a sortof linear pattern like the ones that fingers would trace), or possibly something more serious. This is maybe the fourth time they ve shown up in the last two months, always on my thighs, but never this severely.
Sudden development of itchy linear lesions over the body could be suggestive of insect dermatitis, also called vector dermatitis . Clean your bedding thoroughly. Apply. topical steroid cream like cortisone cream over the affected area twice a day. You might need to take antihistamine drugs as well . See a dermatologist if the condition tends to persist .
