What Causes Itchy Swollen Vagina After Having Intercourse?

Sometimes the Inside of vagina itches ... it s not always reoccurring but it happens. I m not too concerned but I d like to know what is going on . I had intercourse a few days ago and now my vagina is swollen and itching in the inside ... is something wrong ?

Hi.

I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.

Itching post sex could be due to dryness of vagina (lack of lubrication) or allergic reactions to cosmetics & If the itching persists, it might be due to infections. I advice you to have,
* Increased foreplay
* application of 20% xylocaine gel in & around vagina for 15minutes & wipe it off.
* Avoid medications like birthcontrol pills.
* Maintain good hygiene and wash your vagina with soap warm water regularly.
* Avoid feminine products
* Use soft cotton undergarments
* Have safe sex
* Take Antibiotics (flagyl / antibiotic pills or creams) for a week if it's due to infections.
