This never has happened before. But my jaw has been locking up. It has happened a couple times but then passes away. But these past months it has been happening frequently. My jaw on the right side has locked up and once I try to open my mouth its in pain but then eventually makes a pop noise. Once I close my mouth back into its original postiotion it gets locked back up in place. It usually stops after a while but it never has lasted this long. What is going on and how can it be unlocked?
Hello and welcome to HCM forum, I would like you to know that lock jaw condition has a number of reasons to it, stress is one of them . Jaw problems can be hereditary too, in order to treat the condition we have to rule out the cause. I would like to advise you to kindly see your dentist soon. Until then follow a soft diet, try not to open your mouth too wide while yawning. Perform jaw mucle exercises. Do not worry , believe in your dentist and follow the instructions as given

hellooo..read thru ur query..i must say that this can be chronic jaw dislocation...but nothing to worry..u can correct it either surgically or by taking certain precautions...first of all dont do excess opening of mouth like yawning too much, opening for having a jumbo sized burger or an apple., then try to have soft diet .dont give excess stress to the joint for few weeks.,after that if it still persists u may have to takejaw xrays or scan to see the problem and meet an oral sugeon to get it corrected.hope ur benefitted something with my reply..have a healthy day!!!
