What Causes Joints Pain, Muscle Soreness And Bruises While On Estradiol?

My daughter is com plinking of many bruises, although she has not been physically active, soar muscles, and aching joints. She plans to be seen on Wednesday this week, but is wondering if her recently starting oral birth control(estrodiol) could be causing this. Could it? Or should she ask for any specific tests?

Hi,

These are non specific symptoms and it’s quite common with birth control pills.

Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself. You can take analgesics like Mefenamic Acid for symptomatic relief.
