What Causes Kidney Failure After Having Ingested Antifreeze?
Good afternoon, I have a questions? I have an cousin who is in the hospital because he ingested antifreeze, and exstacy and cocaine were also present. We are not sure how much antifreeze he drank but he is on life supports, his kidneys have failed, I dont know

I understand that you are very worried about your cousin. Kidneys are involved in excreting waste products in urine. Therefore, they get a high exposure to chemicals which the body wishes to get rid of. Sometimes, the exposure is more than what the kidneys can handle, and so they go into acute failure. This is what happened in your cousin's case. I hope he will recover very soon.
