Hi, I m 17 years old, 5 3 and weigh 110 lbs. Lately I have been having bad knee pain for unknown reasons. While I stand in place for minutes are a time my hips and knees have pain if I try to walk. Also when i m walking from class to class maybe after 50 feet my knees start to hurt. Sometimes I do hear grinding but none recently.
It is necessary performing some tests in order to investigate for a possible connective tissue disorder or a metabolic disorder. In this regard, I would recommend performing these blood lab tests: - Complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation - Vitamin D plasma levels for possible deficiency - Blood electrolytes - Fibrinogen plasma levels - ANA and ANCA titer antibodies - Rheumatoid factor plasma levels. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
