What Causes Knot Below Rib Cage And Severe Arthritis?

My husband is 32 years old. 6 2 , 275lbs. He has had a knot on his right side below the ribcage for the past 4 yrs. His doctor is not concerned with it as he has more pressing issues (his back and severe arthritis) Our daughter pressed her elbow into his side tonight and he felt a pop . He is in terrible pain now and the knot is gone. What could this be????

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thanks for seeking help on your issue; I have gone through your symptoms, and in my opinion, the knot that has disappeared due to severe pressure was probably a cystic lesion which has busted, it there is not problem, just forget it and continue with treatment of your arthritis, also note if you have any other such swelling on any other part of your body.
I hope I have been able to provide you with a satisfactory solution, if you want to clear any doubts about my opinion, feel free to contact.
Special note- Any medication prescribed needs to be taken after consultation with your personal doctor only.
Thanks
Dr. Narender Saini
