Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Lately i have been having to force myself to eat something. I m never hungry but I know that this isn t normal. I have small episodes of eating more than usual, then I completely stop eating afterwards. I haven t been able to eat anything for two days without feeling sick and being unable to eat food again that day. Is this normal for a 14 year old girl or is this a bad thing?
Hello and thank you for the question! The lack of appetite is a common symptom that is caused by a variety of conditions and diseases, or in same cases it may be something temporary with no concerning at all. As you are a teenager, it may be a symptom of hormonal changeing that are happening in your body at this period. To be able to give you some more detailed info, i need you to give me some more infos like : are you taking any type of medications lately? Because it may be a side effect of different types of medications? Have you done a blood analysis to exclude any type of infection in your body? If you havent, i would suggest you to take a Hemogram analysis. Also i need to know if you are exepriecing a bad mood at this period of your life, because it can also affect your appetite. Please let me know any more details, so i will be able to help you more. Best regards!
