Understanding your concern. As per your query your son is having symptoms of lack of bowel movements for 2 weeks which could be due to many reasons such as
- Due to decreased gastric motility
- Inadequate intake of fluids and fiber rich diet
- Eating a lot of dairy products
- Some medications like antidepressants, acidity.
- Irritable bowel syndrome
Need not to worry. You should avoid intake of sharp, spicy and hot food substances. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order colonoscopy or other tests to look for blockages in your colon , barium studies and blood test for hormonal changes. You should start with drinking a lot of water , do light exercises and avoid fatty and heavy meals. Doctor may prescribe fiber supplement, osmotic laxatives , stool softeners and medicine to reduce acidity.
