What Causes Lack Of Movement Of Fetus During Pregnancy?

I am in my 39th week of (my 4th) pregnancy and I have been feeling very little movement throughout the day today...should I be calling my doctor? I have never made it this far in the past as I have always been induced so I am not sure if this is normal because the baby must be very cramped, or if this is an indication of distress. What should I do?

Hi,

Decreased or absent fetal movements in term pregnancy needs full evaluation immediately. You need to visit a hospital where fetal heart tracing can be done, also an ultrasound of the fetus is advisable to know the amount of amniotic fluid around the baby and the fetal development and size and fetal heart rate.
These need to be discussed with a gynecologist to time your delivery depending on the babies condition any other risk factors that you may have.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
