What Causes Lack Of Sense Of Smell And Nasal Congestion While Treating Sinusitis?
I have been having sinus problems since Friday am and lost my sense of smell Sunday. Doing nasal washes and taking decongestants and Advil. Include form sneezing and blowing is bright yellow, sometimes al.o st lime green. More on my right side of my nose and eyeglasses uncomfortable.
It looks like you have infection in your sinuses causing sinusitis and due to infection in sinuses there is fluid accumulation in the sinuses causing congestion and loss of smell..
So first of all you should consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and a PNS view x ray can be done to rule out the exact condition of the sinuses..
Taking decongestant and advil is not sufficient alone and you should be advised antibiotics like Augmentin, continue decongestant nasal sprays along with it do saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room.. You can also do warm compresses around nostrils..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
