What Causes Large Amount Of Bile Vomiting After Bowel Removal?
hello, my brother has just had a huge bowel blockage removed and has just been given a stoma ,,but he was vomiting litres of spinach coloured bile and had to have a tube,, why would he have this amount of bile inside him after the operation which was meant to clear his blockage,,his poor tummy was so distended he must have been chucking up buckets of the stuff. Im worried incase his intestine is still blocked?
Hello. Yes, he may still have blockage. The vomiting of bile is an indication of intestinal fluids backing up into the stomach. It is possible that he has a peptic ulcer that's causing the blockage. He needs upper endoscopy to look for that
