What Causes Large Amount Of Dark Brown Blood In Urine?
Had relatively large amount of dark brown blood in urine last night. More this morning with coagulate blood approximately 1 inch long. No symptoms before and now appears to be normal other than very slight burning sensation. What do I do about it now?
Hi. Any amount of blood in urine should be taken seriously. Painless, intermittent, gross hematuria with clots...the first differential diagnosis is malignancy of bladder or kidney. The other causes r urinary tract infection, stone disease, cystic kidney disease, etc. The tests which u require should include...urine routine and culture to rule out infection and cytology for malignant cells.U also require an imaging test ultrasound as preliminary test or CECT KUB to localize malignancy or stone disease. Cystoscopy might also be required if lesion is found in bladder. Further management will depend on these test reports which u must do at the earliest.
