What Causes Large Magenta And Purple Bruise On Calf?
hi there I am 7 months pregnant and concerned about a large bruise on my calf. I cannot recall why I would have such a large bruise there. It has grown the past 3 days and now is about 3 inches all around from the diameter. The color is a dark magenta and purple with a yellow 1 inch circle to the right of it. I have noticed some spiders inside my house recently and I am concerned on if I should seek medical attention or wait it out. There isn t a visible bite mark on the bruise that I or my sister can locate. Thank you for your help, Larissa.
As per your case history, you have a purpuric rash. It may be due to a venous abnormality in pregnancy. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 3. Other treatment options are oral vitamin c, topical steroid cream given only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
