What Causes Large Red And Purple Bruise On Palm When Suffering From Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Hi. I m a 41 year old woman who was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis this year. I currently am taking prednisone (30mg daily), humira (every other week), vyvanse( for ADD 50mg), lexipro (20 mg daily for depression) and Celebrex twice a day. I am overweight with a strong family history of heart disease and GERD (which I have). My RA is not under control yet. I m concerned about a large reddish purplish oblong shaped mark under the skin of my palm. It looks like maybe a burst blood vessel or a bad bruise. It hurt pretty badly and then the colored mark appeared and then grew larger. It is about an inch wide by 2 inches long. Any advice?
You should have your complete blood count done.,along with liver function, kidney function tests periodically for untoward effect of RA meds and NSAID.If count show low platelets, then this can be the reason for bruises to appear,if not ,then show to your doctor/skin specialist.if your tests show any abnormality then too you should report to treating doctor so that drug modifications may be done.in all probability it is spider naeivi and shall resolve in few days by itself
