I recently noticed quite large red lumps at the back of my tongue and sometimes a white coating, there are also a few small spots underneath my tongue and it has a lumpy texture down both sides. I have also been experiencing a strange taste and feel like my breath sometimes smells when it never used to. I m asthmatic and have had a cold/bad spell of asthma recently where I had to use my inhaler a lot more frequently, so I m not sure if that is in anyway related. I have also been told it could be linked to an STI (genital warts) so am slightly worried.
Hi. Thanks for your query and proper history. With the history of asthma, inhaler and all, you have a lump on the tongue and it may be a cancer or just enlarged Lingual Tonsils. The only way to confirm this is clinical evaluation, examination FNAC/ Biopsy if required, MRI of the area, to be done ASAP. This will also help to see if they are genital warts or not as suspected by you.
