What Causes Late Period?

I should start my period any day now but it hasn t started. I have recently come off of birth control in January I did not have a period in February in march I had a weird period that was really light and was on one day and off the next. This month I should be starting soon I had brownish blood last week and since then I have been bleeding during sex. Now I have bright orange blood when I wipe. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative not sure what s going on.

Brown blood is seen when the uterine lining becomes thin & less stable due to the use of birth control pills. You may see brown discharge between the periods. No worries.

If you had protected sex or took emergency contraceptive pills within 72 hours f unprotected sex than you shouldn't be pregnant.

However, if you are not getting periods, get physically examined by a gynae. You may need HRT.

Since you have a negative pregnancy test, you can take medroxyprogesterone after consultation with your gynae.
