Hi, I am a 45 year old male. I have a history of hemorrhoids. I have for a year and a half been experiencing left flank pain than radiates to my hip. My bowel movements have been pretty nasty for lack of a better word. The flare up have come and gone over this period of time. I have also experienced large amounts of blood in stool when flare ups occur. All my blood work has been fine & a year ago my colonoscopy showed no signs of anything. Clean as a whistle. Scheduled for a ct soon. But really worried at the moment as I am in the middle of a flare up. also I work out and ab exercises have caused pain & blood in stool at times.
hi, pain and bleeding per rectum usually suggest of some inflammatory bowel disease like ulcerative colitis or crohns disease or a simple infectious colitis or hemorrhoids. When you already underwent colonoscopy and blood tests which showed normal, then try to consult your doctor to recheck on hemorrhoids. If so then dont strain while defecate, can consider sitz bath that is take loop warm water in a tub add betadine into it and sit in the tub for 2 timeas a day for few days, start having high fibre diet. If this is not a cause better get a CECT -abdomen that will give answer for all the symptoms you have Hope this information help you Thank you
