I've suddenly developed pain in my left jaw and when I push down on the gums with my finger it relieves the pain for a bit. I haven't had a routine checkup in a long time. What is going on? I also have sharp pains in my teeth if I eat sweet things. I know this means I have cavities but does it contribute to the gum and jaw pain
I would suggest you to consult to a Dentist and get a checkup done, pain and infection from the tooth could spread to the surrounding tissue like bone and gums, i would suggest you to get an OPG radiograph done, also go for complete mouth scaling and polishing done, at home take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses, a course of multivitamin suplements is required. Tooth which are carious can be filled, pain in the tooth could be treated with root canal treatment, maintain a good oral hygiene.
Hope you find this as helpful,
Take care!
